These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for booking and staying at Lakay Monteverde and for using our website. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all guests and visitors of lakaymonteverde.com and to every reservation made with Lakay Monteverde [legal business name, if different], located in Monteverde, Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
By making a booking or using our website, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
Reservations can be requested through our website, by email, by phone or through WhatsApp. A booking is only confirmed once we have received the required payment and sent you a written confirmation.
The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for all guests in their party.
Device and browser type, IP address, language preference, pages visited and time spent on the site.
Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies).
A deposit of [30%] is required to confirm your reservation, and the remaining balance is due [30 days] before arrival. Prices are shown in [USD] and may be subject to applicable taxes and fees, which will be shown before you confirm.
We process your information based on your consent, to perform a booking contract with you, to meet legal obligations, or for our legitimate interest in running and improving our business.
Cancellations, changes and refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
Check-in is from [3:00 PM] and check-out is by [11:00 AM]. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible on request, depending on availability, and may carry an additional charge.
Please share your expected arrival time in advance so that we can welcome you.
The maximum number of guests for each villa is stated in your booking: the Lover’s Villa accommodates up to 2 guests and the Family Villa up to 4 guests. Only registered guests may stay overnight.
Visitors who are not part of your booking require our prior approval.
To keep Lakay Monteverde peaceful and safe for everyone, all guests agree to follow our house rules:
Please keep noise to a minimum between [10:00 PM] and [7:00 AM].
Smoking is not permitted inside the villas. [Designated outdoor areas only.]
[Pets are not permitted / are permitted on request.]
Events and parties are not allowed without our written approval.
The pool is used at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty, and children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Please take care on terraces, paths and stairs, especially in wet or misty weather, and follow any safety instructions provided by our team.
Guests are responsible for any damage, loss or excessive cleaning caused during their stay by themselves or their party. We may deduct the cost of repairs or replacement from the security deposit or charge it to the card on file.
Please report any accidental damage to us as soon as possible.
Ask what personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it.
Unsubscribe from marketing or withdraw consent at any time.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact Costa Rica’s data protection agency, PRODHAB, or the data protection authority in your country.
Our concierge can help arrange services such as private chef dinners, massages, classes, transfers and tours. Some of these are provided by independent third parties, who are responsible for their own services.
Participation in tours and activities is at your own risk, and you should follow all instructions given by the provider.
To the extent permitted by law, Lakay Monteverde is not liable for any injury, illness, loss, damage, theft or delay arising from your stay, the use of our facilities or third-party services, except where caused by our proven negligence.
We are also not responsible for interruptions to utilities, Wi-Fi or services caused by weather or events beyond our control. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for your reservation.
All content on this website, including text, photographs, logos and design, belongs to Lakay Monteverde or is used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce or use any content without our written consent.
You agree not to misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access or interfere with its normal operation.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Costa Rica.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your booking will apply to your reservation.
